Swamplight Theatre in Ponchatoula is holding auditions for the stage adaptation of the 1960 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. This coming-of-age story from 1930's Alabama follows Scout and Jem Finch as they witness the prejudice and poverty of their Depression-era town through the eyes of children.
Audition Dates: Monday, July 20 and Tuesday, July 21 at 6:00 pm
Callbacks (if needed): Wednesday, July 22
Production Dates: October 9, 10, 16, 17, 18
To Prepare for Auditions/What to Expect:

Bring a resume if one is available. There will be audition sheets on site to fill out.

Prepare a 30-second to 1-minute monologue that is character evocative
-
Be familiar with the script, as there will be cold readings (The production will be using the Christopher Sergel dramatisation-- it can be found online)

Those auditioning will watch monologues as a group and then participate in cold readings of scenes.
